My AP Studio Drawing concentration focuses on self-reflective investigation of the growth of an imperfect woman living through the relationship developed within an inadequate environment— it is a journey of self-discovery depicted through visual art and ideas.
Through this journey I began to think about how I have gotten to where I am today, and I do not mean in my personal life, I mean as an artist. Looking back to when artists first began to flourish there were many limitations on what they could create, and their inspiration did not necessarily come from within themselves, rather, they looked somewhere else for that inspiration. That "somewhere" else usually meaning the divine. The purpose of this project is to find out, to the best of my ability, when that transition happened. When did humans begin to change their incapable world rather than conforming to it?
